Set in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast, Koi blends Japanese sushi with the carefree spirit of Aussie fish and chips.

It is casual and creative by design, serving balanced, flavour-forward plates made with high-quality ingredients and homemade sauces, whether dining in or taking away.

From the fryer come the classics done right: crisp barramundi, battered or crumbed, and a generous seafood basket with chips. Even the sides have flair, from tiger fries to loaded pulled pork fries, all primed for dipping and sharing.

Japanese cues ripple through the menu, from katsu chicken curry rice and teriyaki beef steak rice to miso soup with tofu and a seafood pancake (okonomiyaki). There are playful burgers, too, with an Asian veggie burger and a coconut sweet chilli beef burger stepping out of the usual lane.

Round things off with deep-fried chocolate or a sweet pineapple fritter, and you're set.

Drop in for a quick bite or linger over something sweet - follow your cravings and let Koi reel you in.
