A cool and groovy Latin-Mex fiesta in Balmain, Cantina Bar celebrates all the colour, vibrancy and fun of Latin America and Mexico with bold flavours, spritely cocktails and some of the most talented amigos in the area.

Maracas out, we're going to party! And no one knows how to have a good time quite like Cantina Bar. An open-plan bar/dining room is the perfect setting for the harbourside community to get together and maybe have a boogie under the leafy palms and whimsical wicker lanterns. Admire the giant painted Calavera and raise a glass under its friendly gaze, meet some new folks and settle down for some sumptuous plates from lands far away.

The beating pulse behind this winning menu is the taco. Soft tortilla shells encase thoughtful and inspired fillings, from crispy squid with pickled cabbage, slow-cooked lamb with slaw, baji crispy fish and chipotle beef. For the vegetarians, there's an earthy Yucatan mushroom number with adobe salsa and crispy beer battered cauliflower with a sweet mango relish that hits a sweet kind of freshness.

Other mains include the signature burrito with your choice of beef or chicken, squidgy gnocchi with forest mushrooms, lamb pasilla and a traditional Cuban sandwich with slow-cooked beef cheek and melted cheese. How's that for a delicious marriage of cuisines? Wash it down with a refreshing watermelon margarita or keep it mysterious and brooding with a Dark Soul Maggie. Now, let's fiesta!
