In Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, The Bar at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay channels the spirit of the world’s great hotel bars, marrying European sophistication with an easy Australian coastal edge. Set on Level 1, its polished interiors and warm hospitality create a refined yet relaxed stage for leisurely lunches, afternoon High Tea and elegant evenings.

The kitchen leans into European-inspired cooking with a contemporary touch, favouring clean flavours and quietly luxurious ingredients. Think an opening of Mount Zero wild olives with focaccia or briny-fresh Pacific oysters with a bright mignonette, before settling into prawn and black pepper linguine or an O’Connor scotch fillet, glossed with Café de Paris and teamed with beer-battered fries. Timeless comforts are thoughtfully elevated — from The Bar cheeseburger to a classic club sandwich — while baked eggs shakshuka and avocado toast keep things flexible from day to night. To finish, chocolate lava cake and apple tarte tatin bring a soft flourish of nostalgia.

Signature cocktails and a considered list of premium wines complete the picture, whether it is a catch-up with friends, a polished date night or a special occasion. A standout destination for dining and drinks in Double Bay, it invites lingering. Book ahead, settle in, and let the evening pour by with a twist and a wink.
