Tucked into the urban jungle of Botany in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Larry’s Pizzeria channels Nonna’s version of a social hour - generous, welcoming, and just a little bit cheeky. It’s a Naples-style haven where authentic technique meets creative mocktails, with a sincere promise to make as much as possible in-house and to source the rest from local suppliers.

The menu is filled with Italian staples done properly, from Ortiz anchovies brightened with a touch of citrus on a toasted baguette to handmade Vanella burrata, best torn and shared alongside warm woodfire breadsticks.

Comfort finds its stride in the veal cotoletta milanese, pan-fried with sage and lemon and served with roast potatoes and a mixed greens and parmesan salad - while zuppa di cozze brings mussels swimming in napoletana sauce, basil, and garlic, with house-made focaccia for good measure.

Pizzas carry the soul of Naples, including a Margherita layered with San Marzano tomatoes and fior di latte, and a Napoletana - alongside white-based creations like a lasagne or a trio of mushrooms in creamy repose. Crisp sides of cos and pecorino or rocket, pear, and parmesan keep things sprightly, and little diners can build their own pizza or tuck into a mini schnitzel.

Round things off with tiramisu or crisp cannoli, sip a mocktail, and let Nonna’s spirit lead the way. Book in, bring an appetite, and get ready to share a slice and a smile!
