Southern Europe never looked so good. Celebrating all the culinary magic that this corner of the world has to offer, you could be excused for thinking you've suddenly been teleported to Portugal's rocky coastline or Valencia's cobbled streets.

Reminiscent of endless nights along the whimsical Southern European coast, Lucia Tapas' best asset is its Spanish sun garden. Painted a pleasing shade of terracotta and furnished with traditional bistro table settings and antique vases, the eatery revels in all the unique charm of the Mediterranean. For a more intimate dining experience, head inside for a cosy supper in a brick-walled dining room that is both cosy and elegant at the same time.

The menu is a colourful celebration of sharing plates to enjoy with other like-minded foodies. Decorate the table with an array of hot and cold tapas, mixing and matching flavours and textures with traditional potato and onion omelettes, Jamon serrano ham, flamed chorizo and Australian beef meatballs. For the central showstopper, it has to be the slow-cooked beef cheek or mushroom and Manchego croquettes.

Alternatively, skip all the hard decisions and go straight for a paella between you. A satisfying shade of yellow scattered with king prawns, mussels, chicken and chorizo, this is Spain's more optimistic and delicious gift. Accompanied by a jug of sangria and followed by some sugar-coated churros, it's not hard to see why people can't get enough of this place.
