Bergen brings an unpretentious spirit to Toowoomba, taking its name from the Norwegian word for ‘mountain’. Resting on the region's high crest, the restaurant embraces simplicity and seasonality, reflecting owner Clayton Costigan’s roots on his family farm. Polished details balance a warm, relaxed dining space.

The meal begins with warm Bakers Duck sourdough alongside confit garlic and thyme butter, leading into Pacific oysters with orange and dill mignonette. Atlantic salmon ceviche follows with coconut, chilli, pickled leaf and fried shallot for a bright, refreshing start.

Heartier options include a 230g eye fillet with café de Paris butter, potato galette and blackened carrot. Duck breast arrives paired with celeriac remoulade, orange glaze, asparagus and hazelnut. Elegant desserts complete the offering, from vanilla set cream with lychee, blood orange and torched meringue to the classic Bergen tiramisu.

Thoughtful cooking, an easygoing atmosphere and quality ingredients define the dining experience. You'll find it a comfortable place to settle in, savour seasonal flavours and linger for the evening.
