Mordeo Bistro and Bar brings a spirited slice of Southern Europe to the bustling heart of Sydney’s CBD. A cosy, contemporary room hums with bistro energy, where the pace of city life softens into long, lively conversations and the clink of glasses. It is a place as welcoming for a lingering lunch as it is for a spirited after-work gathering or a private celebration.

The kitchen favours bold, sunlit flavours and time-honoured technique. Handmade pastas lead the way, from prawn spaghetti built on a rich local prawns’ bisque to lamb ragu pappardelle laced with manchego and marjoram. Small plates set the tone with flash fried calamari brightened by lemon and aglio e olio, or a silky stracciatella crowned with figs, rocket and hazelnuts. From the grill and pan come Mediterranean-leaning comforts, whether a market fish with cannellini bean and fried sage or a saucy lamb kebab with pilaf rice and romesco. Slow-fermented pizzas, from a classic margherita to a truffle-strewn number with fior di latte, round out the spread.

With happy hours, long lunches and a dynamic atmosphere, Mordeo balances polish with a carefree, convivial spirit. Settle in, share a taste of the Mediterranean, and let the evening take its cue from the kitchen. Book your spot and follow your fork—no passport required.
