In the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, Venom Brewing Taphouse has taken up residence on Little Bourke Street, opening its doors for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm until late. Brand-new but already sure-footed, it offers the ease of a central-city rendezvous with the promise of good taste and good times.

In the kitchen, classic taphouse fare is sharpened with thoughtful touches. Baked Pacific oysters arrive warm with n’duja herb and lemon, a briny lift against subtle heat. Beer battered rockling brings that seaside crunch, chips on the side and house tartare for a clean, citrusy cut. The Angus beef burger leans into comfort with vintage cheddar, smoked onion jam and pickles, while beer battered onion rings and sweet potato fries with smoked paprika ketchup bring their own crisp chorus.

To finish, a chocolate mousse, layered with caramelized milk and hazelnut praline, lands with rich, silken assurance. The mood suits an unhurried catch-up or a lively city rendezvous before a night out, the taphouse rhythm inviting another round and one more plate to share. Make your way to 19–25 Little Bourke Street from Wednesday through Sunday, settle in from noon till late, and let the conversation—and the pours—do the talking.
