On Spring Street, opposite the sweep of Treasury Gardens, Di Stasio Città channels what Rinaldo calls the Milan end of Melbourne. Conceived as a living conduit between Italy and the CBD, it folds food, art, architecture and design into a single, humming room where conversation sets the tempo and anticipation hangs in the air.

Inside, the kitchen speaks in a confident Italian dialect, one of lineage and intent. Stuzzichini might begin with crostini con fegatini di pollo or the playful Palle, Palle - pasta courses pay homage to Rome and Bologna with spaghetti “Al Moro” carbonara and paccheri Bolognese.

For mains, saltimbocca alla Romana leans into prosciutto and sage, while filetto “Quasi Rossini” offers operatic indulgence with brioche and pâté. Side dishes like patate arrosto and spinaci saltati do what great contorni should: amplify, not distract.

Beyond the menu, Città is more than a dining room - it's a staging ground where hospitality meets cultural conversation. Sophisticated yet spirited, the space gathers creative expression, style and ideas into an electric, generous embrace that's unmistakably Italian at heart and Melbourne in its modernity.

So make a date, settle in where Milan meets Melbourne, and the rest is delicious theatre.
