Canteen Bistrot brings a neighbourhood French bistro vibe to Parramatta Park, Cairns, where classic Gallic flavours meet the ease of a relaxed hangout.

Founded by Maeliss and Matthieu, who draw on 15 years of global hospitality experience, it champions affordable, honest French cooking and the kind of welcome that turns first-timers into regulars.

From the moment you arrive, the team keeps the atmosphere welcoming. Refreshing sips set a sunny tone, handcrafted drinks nod to casual dining, and rich coffees bring familiar finesse. Everything's served with generous hospitality for residents and visitors alike.

On the plate, timeless simplicity does the talking. Think steak frites done with care, followed by desserts that lean indulgent yet unfussy: dark chocolate mousse or a bright, buttery lemon meringue tart. Those with a soft spot for something sweet will appreciate an affogato to close the evening with a flourish.

Settle in for something comforting, stay for the company, and let the conversation linger. Pull up a chair at Canteen Bistrot and make it your new local!
