dinner

A Cairns treasure that enjoys urban life and natural beauty in equal measure, Perrotta's at the Gallery is a social hub morning, noon and night.

Family owned and operated, and serving authentic Italian food since 1997, Perrotta's owes its success to its consistently wonderful food and homey feel. It's located adjacent to the Gallery and calls the Lagoon its neighbour, making it the epitome of Cairns' inner city lifestyle. During the roasting summers, Perrotta's patio is always buzzing as diners shelter from the sun with ice-cold cocktails and fragrant Italian food. The dining area is stylish, relaxed and comfortable, offering a welcome respite from the heat.

As with any Italian dinner, you are advised to take your time; three-course meals are always recommended. So, pair your first glass of white with some arancini balls oozing with pecorino cheese and fresh basil, roast Tasmanian octopus with pickles, Pacific oysters or some creamy burrata cheese with San Daniele prosciutto.

Mains consist of fresh pastas, pizzas and stunning meat and seafood dishes. Let's start with Perrotta's signature spicy vodka rigatoni. It's tomatoey, creamy and cheesy, whilst the house-made gnocchi is rich and meaty with braised duck and a porcini mushroom ragu. Alternatively, enjoy supper by the slice with any of their traditional pizzas, plus house specials like the "RIP Tony Soprano" with bacon, spicy salami and pork sausage. Finally, no Italian meal is complete without dolci at the end and at Perrotta, they live by the Italian playbook.
