With a name that translates to “cooking pot” in Hindi, it’s fair to say Rasoi by Indian Mehfil knows a thing or two about authentic Indian cuisine.

This Browns Plains gem serves up some of the best dishes from across the Indian subcontinent, all made using traditional techniques and recipes passed down through generations. With a cooking pot like that, it would be rude not to dive in.

Start your meal at Rasoi with an entrée from their extensive menu. The seafood pakora is a favourite: pieces of fish marinated in gram flour, spices, and herbs, then deep-fried and served with mint sauce. The hara bhara kebab, mashed potato with spinach, green peas, and seasonal veggies, served with a tangy tamarind sauce is another popular pick.

The mains will leave you spoilt for choice, whether you’re vegetarian or a meat lover, from the tender lamb rogan josh to the malai kofta, featuring potato and cheese balls with roasted dry fruits in a rich butter gravy. Don’t skip the sides either. The resident chef recommends the mixed duo pappadum platter, served with raita, mango chutney, and mixed pickles.

Alongside an extensive menu, Rasoi by Indian Mehfil also offers some of the finest Indian sweets in Brisbane, everything you need for a delicious journey through Indian cuisine, right in the heart of Browns Plains.
