The Lex brings a touch of New York grillhouse grandeur to Brisbane CBD, set against the shimmer of the Brisbane River. It is polished yet welcoming, a room where the clink of glassware meets a gentle buzz, and the promise of a little theatre hangs in the air.

The menu leans into bold, contemporary flavours with a clear sense of occasion. Warm, freshly baked sourdough lands with whipped yuzu butter, while tuna tataki cuts through with housemade ponzu, green oil mayo and a flash of blood orange. Local pride shows in a Moreton Bay bug roll layered with fennel, apple and a sparkle of caviar on charred homemade brioche, and there is playful freshness in compressed watermelon dusted with furikake and glossed with tamarind chilli jam.

From the grill, citrus-fed wagyu meets enoki and shiitake under an umeshu jus, while roasted and smashed chat potatoes bring comfort with green ranch and pickled jalapeño. To finish, a silken vanilla panna cotta wobbles beneath cherry blossom jelly, with poached strawberry and a delicate tuile crunch.

For an evening that feels a little larger than life, book a seat by the river and let The Lex do the heavy lifting, steak knives at the ready.
