A 19th-century icon reclaimed, Malt Dining & Bar is nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, serving modern European and Asian-inspired dishes.

Malt spans three levels of one of Brisbane's oldest working-class buildings. Glass magnolia chandeliers dangle from the timber-clad ceiling, while the walls are adorned with striking black and white photos, a nod to a time when the venue was a grain store. In the attic, French doors framed by geisha curtains and a Juliet balcony create the perfect perch to unwind and watch the world go by, day or night.

Their cuisine reflects the modern Australian palate, drawing inspiration from both European and Asian flavours. To start, enjoy fresh Queensland scallops dripping in horseradish butter; a silky, decadent bite with a kick. The beef tartare is equally refined, served with buffalo curds, crispy onions, and tender potatoes.

For mains, opt for a smoky, buttery plate of perfectly grilled wagyu, or a sirloin on the bone topped with vibrant parsley dressing. The slow-cooked pork melts apart at the touch and pairs beautifully with Jerusalem artichoke and creamy whipped potatoes.
