dinner

A friendly, local wine bar with an emphasis on Spanish and Italian plates alongside uncomplicated drinks, Sir Duncan certainly deserves its prestigious title!

It’s a sunny, stylish spot that basks in the whimsy of European summertime. Just like an Italian trattoria or Spanish bistro, everyone is welcomed like family, invited to rustic table and invited to enjoy supper at a lazy, relaxed pace. At Sir Duncan’s, nothing is rushed.

The menu is a joyful mix of sharing and individual plates, making for a wonderfully diverse dining experience that whisks you away to the luscious Mediterranean coast. You’ll find the creaminess of goats fromage frais paired with the bitterness of balsamic onion, the saltiness of 12 months aged Manchego complimented by a sweet fig jam and cod croquettes with a tantalizing chutney. Add on some patats bravas and charred broccoli for a feast worth remembering.

The individual plates are just as thoughtful. The delicacy of swordfish is brought to life with a roasted grape salsa whilst Riverine strip loin is nestled next to the comforting flavours of chimichurri and crispy shallots. Masters in flavour pairings and a lightness of touch that keeps natural flavours intact, Sir Duncan cuts to the heart of Mediterranean cooking with subtlety and grace. And with an impressive wine collection too, this experience is as much about the drinking as is about the eating. Buon appetito!
