Cottage Point Inn sits poised by the water on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, an intimate and serene hideaway where the view does the talking.

The pace is unhurried, the mood deeply calm, and rooms with balconies extend the experience into a private retreat, all framed by the ebb and flow of the inlet.

In the dining room, a five-course set menu charts a thoughtful journey through coastal Australia with subtle global inflexions. Hokkaido scallops meet Jerusalem artichoke purée and a soy brown butter emulsion, lifted by a sea parsley crumb.

Vegetarians are well catered for too: think heirloom carrot touched with honey, ginger, native herbs and togarashi, or a salt-baked celeriac steak glossed with shiitake mushroom jus and brightened by kohlrabi.

Whether lingering over the courses or settling back to simply watch the water, this is dining as an escape. Book in, breathe out, and let the signal bars fade while the flavours come in loud and clear.
