For more than 38 years, Gelbison has been a family-owned Bondi fixture, set in the heart of the suburb, just steps from Bondi Beach.

Rooted in the traditions of southern Italy, it offers a cosy, authentic ambience - the kind that makes guests feel as though they're dining among family. Every plate captures the essence of homemade flavours and time-honoured recipes.

To start, the kitchen leans into authentic simplicity: sun-ripened tomatoes and creamy bocconcini in insalata Caprese, crisp calamari fritti, and mussels prepared in traditional ways, from peppery impepata di cozze to zuppa di cozze with Napoletana sauce.

For mains, hearty Italian favourites take centre stage: a Margherita or fiery Calabrese pizza, spaghetti Bolognese or tender ricotta and spinach ravioli, followed by risotti such as earthy funghi di bosco and seafood-studded marinara.

Secondi round out the menu with scaloppine al limone or oven-baked pollo Parmigiano.

Settle in, take in the seaside atmosphere, and let southern Italian comfort meet coastal ease. Book a table, bring an appetite, and say sì to la dolce vita with a splash of sea breeze.
