Service was great- the waitresses were delightful upon arrival and greeted us with a warm smile! The food was very good, we had the baby beef ribs and duck and mushroom pasta and could not fault both. Good place to have a meal before an event at the Perth Concert Hall. Recommend!

What a brilliant dining experience. My wife and I went before going to Perth concert hall which is 2 minute walk away.
The service from the start was excellent, lovely personable staff that make you smile. The menu had so many good and different choices. I had rhe bruschetta and my wife the crispy prawns. Both were delicious and good size servings but her prawns won that round. Mains i got the rump steak and my wife the duck pasta. My steak cooked perfect (medium rare) and the garlic butter on top when the jus was poured on it, lip smacking good, make sure to pour some jus on your chips too. Now the pasta, i am going back again just for that pasta, it was the best I've ever had, knocked my socks off. A perfect serve (not to large) which is exactly what my wife wanted after a good sized entree, i got tp help her finish it, yay. Dessert was the meringue and shortbread (we shared) presentation again impeccable and so delicious. Not a large serving but perfect to conpliment the meal as its about that quality which we got. We ordered 2 ginger ales and bottle of tap water and total was $54. It was one of the top dining experiences I've had and I almost feel guilty for that price. Almost

Howard & I booked on First Table because of an email mentioning this restaurant in the city, which was convenient for us last night. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar, beer and a very nice Mojito. The menu had a good number and variety of tempting choices and prices were reasonable, We decided on the beef ribs and the rump steak. Both the rump was a delicious thick piece cooked medium as requested. It came with a sauce, very nice dressed salad and good fries. My ribs in their red wine jus were delicious and accompanied by silky smooth mash, baby carrots and a couple of asparagus stalks which were disappointingly thin and over cooked for my taste. Wine was reasonably priced and our chosen red was enjoyable. Desserts were attractively presented. However we were given spoons only and I had to ask for a fork as my mascarpone & raspberry parfait was the frozen solid in the middle. Howard said his chocolate fondant was very nice - it certainly disappeared quickly! Downsides: The hotel is one of Perth's older ones and the bar and restaurant could do with a major makeover. The steak knives were not sharp enough (old too we think). The waitstaff were pleasant but seemed a little inexperienced, especially the wine waiter who said he was "still learning the terms". None of this bothered us, but we noticed another couple had an overly long wait for their meals. In summary though, we had an enjoyable meal of tasty food with pleasant staff and in surrounds that were not too noisy for conversation. The 50% off food First Table voucher made it even more ideal!
