Woods café and the adjacent restaurant are a fantastic location for lunch or dinner. The airy café gets loads of natural light; it’s a relaxed and casual affair with really, really good coffee.

Next door, the restaurant is a little more formal in style, yet still carries a relaxed and friendly vibe. The bar area boasts outdoor seating with parasols for summery days.

Select from the contemporary menu, featuring a mix of old favourites and new, exciting dishes. From chicken curry to lamp rump, seafood to salads, you’ll find the menu is clearly labelled for allergies and food preferences. It’s this attention to detail, coupled with the high standard of customer service that has earned Woods a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.

Not forgetting the indulgent desserts and international wine list, Woods is a great option for a meal with family or friends.

Good service and food, but limited dishes choices. The desserts were excellent!

Great food especially the cheesecake. Didn’t enjoy the upselling of alcohol and sides four or five times especially since we don’t drink alcohol, was made to feel awkward and uncomfortable. The atmosphere was also quite poor and unwelcoming. Would recommend for the food but not for an evenings dining experience.

We arrived promptly on time and was shown our seats. The service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant. We ordered the Ocean Trout and the Sirloin.

The sirloin was very nice. The fat could probably have been rendered a little more, but it was acceptable. The trout on the other hand was terrible. The skin was soft and wet. The flesh was not cooked, in fact was mostly raw. I don’t mean under done. I mean raw. The flesh could not be pulled apart at all. The edges flaked but the Middle was completely uncooked.

Naturally it was sent back, and we were asked if we wanted that piece recooked, or a new piece.

Whilst slightly perturbed that we were even asked we answered with a smile for a new piece.

The second piece came much more cooked. So much so that the skin was in fact crispy, but the flesh was gray and dry instead of pink and moist.

The fish was also incredibly hot. So hot we had to wait for it to cool enough to put in our mouth.

This alone added to the fish being completely over cooked. One extreme to the other.

We paid and left.

Overall the experience was just ok. As in the staff were nice. If we were paying full price I’d have been much more annoyed.

We had a lovely meal in very smart but relaxing surroundings. The food was yummy and we ate everything! The staff were attentive & helpful with any questions we had. We are visiting from New Zealand & were so glad we came to 'Woods'
