Step into the charm of 1898 Bar + Dining, where heritage meets contemporary Tasmanian hospitality. Set within a beautifully restored landmark building in Hobart, this inviting space offers a warm and stylish atmosphere, complete with a cosy fireplace, garden courtyard, and sweeping city views.

With a focus on fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, every visit is a flavourful journey into the heart of Tasmania’s culinary culture. Among the various selections are mains such as herb-crusted fish of the day, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and lemon butter sauce. Diners can also enjoy roasted pork belly with potato and beer gravy, finished with apple relish.

To complete the meal on a sweet note, diners can enjoy a Tasmanian cheese platter with dried fruit and crackers, or apple crumble with custard and vanilla bean ice cream. A vibrant array of wines and ciders provides a lovely complement to these offerings.

Whether one seeks a relaxed evening, a special celebration, or simply to soak in the ambience, 1898 delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Discover the warmth, the views, and the unmistakable taste of Tasmania in 1898.
