In sun-splashed Torquay, a spark from cookery school became a coastal haven. Hari and Yash met in 2020, joined soon after by Yash’s childhood friend, Karthi. With families steeped in hospitality, Beans & Beers grew from friendship, food and family into a breezy all-day café where the community finds its table.

The menu celebrates fresh Aussie comfort with a traveller’s curiosity. Start the day with a breakfast burger stacked with eggs, bacon, hash brown, chorizo, rocket and hollandaise, or enjoy homemade waffles topped with lime mascarpone and berry compote for a sweet indulgence.

For plant-based options, the vegan menu shines with dishes such as plant-based Benedict with sautéed spinach, crumbed tofu, mushroom and house-made vegan sauce. Bircher muesli with poached pear and seasonal fruits makes for a fresh, wholesome choice, while zucchini corn fritters bring a savoury twist.
