It might be one of the busiest roads in Canberra, but that hasn't stopped this undiscovered gem from popping up. An upmarket coffee and cocktail bar, Our Place on London is honouring history in a way that sets it apart from the rest.

OPL proudly hails Australia's First Nations people and the Ngunnawal Land that they call home. And that's exactly the vibe they've gone for with the restaurant by creating a second living room for each and every one of us. The whole place basks in the soft pallet of stone greys, forest greens and charcoal undertones, making for a calm and restorative space in which to recuperate over locally-sourced plates. Then they have the bar that brings a touch of glamour whilst out back they have one of the best terraces in the capital!

For the menu, they're taking inspiration from far-away Italia, curating a fresh and aromatic menu that is informed by local ingredients and the traditional trattoria. If pasta is on your mind, sample their homemade tortellini that's paired with Kent pumpkin, burnt butter and pine nuts. Alternatively, head to Bologna for a homemade parpadelle with a crown of slow-braised lamb ragu.

As for pizza, you can either go traditional with a pepperoni, prosciutto or Napoli number or go off-piste with the braised lamb pizza that is topped with bocconcini and bejewelled with pomegranate seeds. And with a stunning steak and daily fish on the menu too, you might just find that Our Place becomes your place too.
