In Woolloongabba, D.Vino Bistro and Vinoteca brings a slice of northern Italy to an intimate 40-seat dining room. This Italian restaurant and wine bar channels the mood of a European vinoteca, with a Piedmont lean and a menu that encourages conviviality: small, tapas-style plates to share sit alongside more considered à la carte creations.

Seafood takes centre stage, framed by subtle nods to French and Italian fine dining. Bluefin tuna tataki dusted with poppy seeds finds creamy lift in stracchino under a soy glaze and sun-dried tomato mayo, while homemade tagiatelle tangled with braised duck ragù is brightened by orange zest and a whisper of smoked ricotta. The kitchen’s finesse extends to red emperor fish with zucchini, mint emulsion and chard-grilled artichokes, and a playful cannolo cradling slow-braised pork with béchamel and Parmigiano Reggiano. To finish, a limoncello cheesecake crowned with lemon curd and meringue keeps things luminous.

The mood is relaxed, like a sophisticated dinner party set to tasteful lounge and saxophone house. An extensive wine list with over 470 labels, including Italian and French selections, and a small curated cocktail list complete the experience.

Settle in for a glass, share a plate or two, and let the evening unfurl. Book soon and let pleasure take the vinous lead.
