Som Ras Indian brings a lively slice of the subcontinent to Chermside, Brisbane, charting a course from street-side snacking to the deep warmth of the tandoor and the pull of coastal spice.

The menu encourages conversation and passing plates, starting with pani puri and dahi poori that crack to release flavoured water, tamarind chutney, potato and chickpeas, a quickfire duet of crunch and zing. A classic vegetable samosa follows with flaky pastry and a comforting hit of spiced potatoes, inviting one more bite.

From the grill, paneer tikka shashlik threads marinated cheese with charred vegetables, while tandoori chicken lands juicy and fragrant. Seafood also has its moment with fish amritsari, crisp and spice-laced, and tandoori salmon kissed by the tandoor. Vegetarians are well looked after with paneer aloo tikki and a generous mix veg platter built for sharing.

Book a table, follow your nose, and enjoy a meal that captures the warmth and vibrancy of India.
