Opened in November 2019 on the historic site of the former Pasta Fina factory, The Icon has become a landmark in Central Wollongong. Part restaurant, part bar, and tuned to live music, it channels Los Angeles vibes with European and Latin influences into a single, vibrant address.

The kitchen follows a produce-driven philosophy: fresh, fun and proudly innovative. Sourcing ingredients both locally and internationally with quality at the fore, the team crafts food that celebrates generous flavour, brightness and texture rather than any single cuisine. Expect an ever-evolving approach that invites curiosity and conversation.

The concept sprang from the entrepreneurial mind of Dimitri Skarvelis, who transformed 400 square metres of concrete into a thriving hospitality sanctuary. Raised in Australia by Greek immigrants, his love of food and fascination with American culture are stitched through the experience, from the way dishes are composed to the rhythm of the room. It's a place designed to bring people together, distinctive by design.

Settle into the eclectic hum, order food, and let the soundtrack set the tempo while the kitchen does the talking. Whether you are dropping in for a midday catch-up or lingering into the evening, The Icon makes it easy to stay a little longer. Make a date, follow the music, and find your flavour at this Wollongong original.
