In Central Wollongong, Asees Indian Restaurant leans into the soul of North Indian cooking, where spice is treated as a storyteller rather than a shout.

The opening salvos are classic and comforting. A vegetable samosa gives way to softly spiced potato and peas, while paneer tikka arrives with that gentle char that only time and attention can coax. From the clay oven, tandoori chicken brings smokiness without overwhelming heat, and lamb seekh kebab offers minced meat on skewers, aromatic and deftly handled.

For those who favour vegetarian mains, palak paneer is all about balance, the spinach mellow and the paneer tender, while paneer butter masala leans creamy and lush, made for scooping and sharing. Flavours are familiar yet carefully judged, the kind that invite another bite rather than demand it.

Whether dropping in for a swift lunch or lingering over a comforting spread, Asees Indian Restaurant keeps things warm, welcoming and well-seasoned.

Pay them a visit, follow your nose to the tandoor, and let the classics steal the scene - one delicious mouthful at a time.
