Absolutely beautiful food with a beautiful view. While it was cold and windy outside the restaurant was cosy and inviting. Calamari and garlic bread were perfect. These entrees were followed by the barramundi and the prawn dish - these too were cooked perfectly. To top off the meal we had bombalone and coffee which was a delicious combo and would highly recommend! Great service.

A special occasion, our 30th wedding anniversary was make perfect by the lovely lunch we had at Chiosco by Ormeggio. Service was attentive from the cheeky waiter without being excessive, food came timely and was delicious, location on the marina was beautiful. Thanks guys, we'd certainly visit again.

We arrived at Chiosco and were immediately taken to our table. We had fabulous, quick service within a lovely environment on the water. We shared two mains Tiger Prawns with Chilli and Lemon and Barramundi with a pumpkin sauce both delicious with sides of Rocket salad and the most scrumptious chips. The chips arrived slightly late, as a result we realised on paying the bill they were given to us at no charge. The restaurant was full on a Wednesday night and we can understand why!

On a windy and cold Thursday morning we had the pleasure of arriving at Chiosco By Ormeggio, which is situated on the marina at The Spit, Mosman.
We were seated at our table and offered drinks and our menus. We started with a coffee each and then perused the menu and decided to share a starter of calamari fritti: southern calamari with lemon mayonnaise which was delicious. The calamari was lightly fried, crunchy and incredibly tasty while the lemon mayonnaise was a wonderful accompaniment.

We then chose our mains, the Gnocchi Cacio e Pepe: which is gnocchi with
pecorino, parmesan, black pepper & crispy brussels sprouts and the Tagliatella allo Scoglio which is homemade tagliatella with mussels, prawns, calamari, white fish & parsley. The pasta dishes were simply served in white bowls which allowed the pasta to speak for itself, and it did, they were both delicious and oh so tasty.

Chiosco is a lovely venue for a casual catch up or a function. The food is uncomplicated yet so full of flavour, you won't be disappointed.

We had the most fantastic lunch at Chiosco - the food was incredible and the staff brilliant. My husband said it was the “best lunch” he’s had aside from being somewhere exotic on holidays.

A perfect location to enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends. The kingfish with pine nut cream and citrus /orange dressing was my favourite dish. The delicate flavours were a great combination. All our meals- whole fish, grilled prawns and the mussels were delicious. Attentive service and friendly staff.

Amazing food, great view and the most friendly staff! They even took care of our 2 and 4 year old providing them with colouring books and crayons. My 4 year old said it's the "best pasta ever" and they were very happy with their gelato too. My husband and I enjoyed the seafood especially the oysters from the Sydney harbour and the grilled split prawns. One of our best meals in Sydney!

4 stars for ambiance and service at Chiosco and 3 stars for the food. The waiter recommended us to order the Chef Sharing Feast so we ordered the premium one. The first few entrees were nice but the rest was under average. The wagyu was dry and under seasoning. It's ok price with 50% off from First Table but we wouldn't pay full price for it. Bottom line, we wouldnt go back again.

Charming, small, enclosed pier area on the Spit, full of light.
Welcoming staff, comfortable table .
My meal of Vitello Tonsto and pasta with a Wagu beef ragu and a side salad was all delicious .
The glass of red wine that I ordered was not good .
My friends ordered the. fish which was very tasty but small and they said but they felt that they did not get what the menu promised , that the tiny smear of pumpkin purée and a handful of raw baby spinach on the plate was inadequate and left them feeling disappointed.
I would certainly return to Chiosco.

We went for Lunch and had the chefs premier selection which was fantastic my favourite was desert especially the warm Nutella filled donuts.
Location is second to none looking out at the marina.

This is the first time we’ve eaten here and we used the website firsttable.com.au to enable us to enjoy the first sitting for dinner. We were quite early and there’s something wonderful about pretending that the restaurant has just opened for you (No, it hadn’t we were just the first table for the evening). We had fabulous oysters, the snapper and the lamb shoulder - all of it was cooked to perfection. We had a side of beans and the lamb shoulder came with and artisan Italian spinach. Service was fantastic and the wine was moderately priced. I would recommend this to anyone. It’s not a walk by/walk in m restaurant - as you need to know where it is but it really is worth making the booking. While this review is a plus plus recommendation, my only request would be that both roast and mash potato could be available as opposed to just chips. Chips just don’t flick the Italian switch for me.

Not worth booking first table unless you plan to drink a lot as the wine is pretty expensive, better off paying for food and doing BYO.

Good food, good service, expensive and surprisingly little choice, we thought, for a Kiosk (Chiosco) by a Mooring (Ormeggio) albeit a fine dining establishment with a celebrity chef.

Our 'Pavoni' garlic bread was light and delicious, quite different to usual styles of GB, and the Bruschetta was entirely off the wall as far as the usual dish is concerned. We enjoyed our rainbow trout cooked in foil parcels with heaps of olives although, disappointingly, only 1 out of 3 of us liked olives. Barramundi came with crispy skin and was moist and tender, served on a bed of crispy kale - not what you'd call a portion of vegetables. And so to the 'Sides' or lack of them with dishes. One needs to order accompanying vegetable dishes separately as no main dishes appear to have anything else with them. We opted for, between four, two salads and the only offering of potato (no rice or cous-cous or similar) which was chips. The chips were very ordinary, surprisingly so, very like average seaside kiosk chips with little to commend them. The salads, small, marginally interesting but not very substantial. No side of mixed vegetables was available, which would have been a good choice with all the fish dishes. Service was good and charming. The share plates on offer, at the price of $69 or $79 per person, we thought, was more than we would expect from this kind of ambience and location, after all it's NEXT to the fine dining restaurant and during the day is a coffee spot. Slightly disappointing too that no BYO possible with First Table bookings. Also, note that car parks are not adjacent to either Chiosco or Ormeggio so on a rainy night, it's umbrellas at the ready for a walk across the Spit Bridge or across the grass to enter through the boat showroom, confusing if you haven't been before. We would be happy to return, but only with First Table's discount at these current prices.

What a fabulous location overlooking the sea and marina. We celebrated my partner’s 95 year old mother’s birthday with the Chefs Sharing plate. This consisted of 11 plates and we certainly weren’t hungry at the end. Even his mum polished off the lot!!
The staff were great. Even brought out the desserts with a candle in the doughnut. They had smiles on their faces at all times and were so caring.
We didn’t try the wines but the table tap water kept on coming!!
We will be back!
