Kolkata Social is a love letter to Bengali cuisine and culture in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West. Rooted in tradition and shaped by the city’s diverse palate, it is led by Kolkata-born chef Ahana Dutt, whose journey spans India and Sydney’s top kitchens. She brings Bengali cooking beyond the familiar curry-house canon using local produce and time-honoured techniques.

The menu is layered with evocative flavours, from the gentle smoke of mustard oil to the brightness of fresh aromatics. Guests discover plates that feel like memories made tangible, including mustard oil-kissed barramundi and spiced ricotta wrapped in banana leaves.

Further in, the cadence continues with egg dalna and its jammy comfort, and the delicate reshmi kebab scented with fenugreek and black pepper. Set menus trace a fuller arc, featuring chicken chaap, a beloved cousin of butter chicken, and goat kosha that unfolds in slow-cooked depth.

Kolkata Social brings stories to the table with an intimate, narrative-driven dining experience. Each set menu ordered also nourishes the wider community through Calcutta Rescue, a charity improving lives in Kolkata, creating a meal shared both near and afar.
