It all started when Manjula Fernando discovered the richness of his native Sri Lankan cuisine and decided to share it with the world. Now based in Glebe, he's pairing his exquisite food with an upmarket, European setting.

An enchanting little cubby hole in Sydney, Sri Lankan Streetfood tells the story of its founder and his journey mesmerising diners all over the world. Cosy and intimate with soothing minty walls, original fireplaces and elegant artwork, it takes us onboard celebrity yachts, bistro-style eateries and Sydney's spectacular Circular Quay, all of which have seen Fernando's magic touch. Now with an award-winning catering business to his name, Fernando's signature Sri Lankan and European fusion cooking has taken Sydney by storm.

Sri Lanka might be small compared to neighbouring India, but it boasts an astounding range of culinary treats. In the north, you'll find crispy dosas filled with anything from spiced potatoes, fried fish, lamb and jackfruit. All served with a range of chutneys, these crepes encourage you to dispose of cutlery and eat them the traditional way! The curries are equally as delicious with the bold flavours of beef mustard curry, sizzling devilled chicken, peppered lamb and black pork curry. And they are every bit as dramatic as they sound.

Another Sri Lankan specialty is the Kottu Roti. A soulful dish of chopped roti, egg, chilli, vegetables and a choice of meat curry, pair yours with a beef, lamb, seafood, vegetarian or vegan counterpart. Finally, as we're on the subject of roti, have yours filled with chicken murthabak, egg and onion or grated coconut. A cuisine with many dimensions, tour the Sri Lankan street stalls with Fernando and his team and discover new flavours you're unlikely to forget.
