We arrived 10min early- no problems, were seated straight away. First impressions are great- the restaurant is very clean, modern and spacious, so you're not uncomfortably close to the neighboring tables. The tables are huge (big tick from me- I dislike small tables!). We ordered cocktails and wine, both served quickly.
Entree was quick to arrive- highly reccomend the sliders. The chicken drumsticks were very small, and probably should have 4, not 3, on the plate.
Main meals were delivered fairly soon after entrees cleared. The beef cheek was beautiful, and I would happily order it again. My husband ordered the chicken burger (came with chips), but also ordered a side of onion rings. He couldn't finish it all, the serving size of the burger was big, but the side serve was very big, and looking at all the other dishes served to other tables, they are all generous sizes.
We attempted dessert- chocolate brownie, and the doubletree cookie. Both presented beautifully. Both tasted lovely.
The restaurant quickly became busy, but the kitchen was fast, and we did not notice anyone waiting long for meals.
Highly recommend this venue and we look forward to going back to try some other dishes.

Food was amazing, we had the beef cheeks and salmon for mains and both were cooked very well. The beef cheeks we were told have been braised for 36 hours and it was as tender as you can expect.

My wife and I enjoyed our date night here at James St Kitchen. Expect we will be back again.

We generally avoid going into Northbridge, but seeing as it was a early seating we thought why not! Got street parking quite easily, beautifully presented restaurant, my kids ordered the carbonara and fish and chips off the kids menu, both enjoyed it! My wife ordered the seafood linguini...she wish she hadn’t was quite flavourless, I had a taste and I have to agree with her. I got the fried barramundi and it was absolutely delish! Would def go back but won’t be getting the seafood linguini...

We had such a good time here, went there with zero expectations. Because we never used first table and why would they give us good service AND 50% off?

But it was so great, the waitress was so lovely, kept topping up our water glasses and the food was absolutely delicious!

Definitely recommend this place, we were already talking about when we’re going there again!

Foos and service were amazing, the venue had a homely feel to it. We all ordered different steaks which were tender, delicious and cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back...

What a wonderful night in every capacity. It was my wife and I with our two daughters (11 and 6)
We were greeted by lovely staff and the setting is lovely. The menu almost too good as so many amazing choices it is hard to decide.
We got the pita and dips to share and great start. The pita was warm and toasted but still soft and the three dips beetroot, hummus and a garlicy one i just wanted to get my fingers in there. We had left over dip which we kept on the table so we could continue to dip from oit mains.
I gor the sirloin with mushroom sauce and chips to medium rare. Cooked perfectly and good amount of sauce so to have the chips with and cover the steak. My wife had the barramundi linguine which she said was beautiful and was surprised with generous serving of fish. My 11 year old got the chicken burger and to my dismay ate the whole thing and it was an impressive size (not fair when Dad doesn't get his daughters left overs) and a
A bowl of chips for my 6 year old which she demolished.
Now we were full but again desserts sounded too good not to try and we couldn't decide what not to get so we got the three we wanted, the brownie, the coconut creameaux and the rhubarb and shared them around. Brownie is rich but sharing was perfect, coconut creameaux oh lordy that was good. The rhubarb dessert was very good too but you need to like rhubarb to enjoy it, and if you do you are in for a treat. I can't fault anything about this place and can't wait to come back to try out the rest of the menu.

Service was excellent, unfortunately, the actual restaurant was undergoing reno's so we dined at the bar. Food was honestly ok for bar food, however, the service was above average!

Delicious food in the new double tree hotel in Northbridge.
Lovely food and lovely presentation.
Onion rings were slightly oily but nice and crunchy.
Pasta was really good too.
