Head to this local favourite for laid back vibes and barbeque meats cooked with sizzling South American passion!

In Argentina preparing an asado (barbeque) is practically a religion, and Chef Owner Max Pineiro brings this sense of reverence to every meal. Pull up a seat at the wooden bar and watch him working his magic in the open kitchen, which is dominated by an enormous open grill.

The menu is all about classic Argentinian soul food served straight from the heart, combining traditional favourites with more contemporary dishes such as beef ribs, grilled chorizo and morcilla sausage. It all comes doused in Max’s signature chimichurri sauce. Also on offer are burgers, salads and rolls as well as homemade empanadas - crispy pastries with your choice of filling.

The covered outdoors seating area is the perfect place to relax with your favourite Argentinian malbec on warmer evenings (the restaurant is BYOB), while recycled wooden panelling and wafts of smoke from the grill make for a cosy ambience.

For table for 4, this was the perfect spot.

We started the night w 2 orders of empanadas (soft fluffy donut like pastry filled with beef) that was made to order - the freshness was evident.

This was followed by the degustation smoked meats comprised of meat grill, smoked capsicum, flat bread and corn which was a combination delight.

This was washed down with the Argentinian local malt drink to end things on a sweeter note. Would definitely visit El Acador again.

In a humble house converted into a restaurant El Asador is slinging some genuine and delicious Argentinian fare.

From delicious sausage, delightful ribs, and decadent churros every part of the meal was well portioned and very well put together. Cooked over coals/wood fire the meat is succulent, tender, and very flavoursome.

What an absolutely beautiful restaurant. Small but that's part of its charm. The kitchen is open and before yiu even walk in you can smell everything which gets yiu excited for what you are going to experience. My wife ordered a selection of entrees instead of a main, empanadas, all of them large and amazing as well as chicken wings, provolone with flatbread, and croquettes...she was very happy with everything (apart from kids and i wanting to sample everything). I had meatlovers plate which was very nice though some bits were quite fatty, but that is where the flavour is. My kids had hamburger and hotdog, neither traditional (i mean maccas style) so kids indifferent so i stepped up and ate, delicious! Now the best part dessert. The churros are our of this world and a must buy! Best we have ever had. We also got the tres leches which was good but the cake was a touch dry and needed some more milk with it. The kids are desperate to go back as am I. Contemplating an all entree meal but the whole menu needs to be tried. Oh service and people were lovely too

I went to el asador for my 1st year wedding anniversary. We had empanadas on tray. 6 empanadas, 2 chicken , 2 beef and 2 mozzarella and basil. All of them were really good along with the plain and the spicy chimichurris. Chicken is the winner. As main we had a complete bbq plate . Chicken wings , black pudding, chorizo, lamb, beef short ribs and pork. We had great time,. Service was excellent. Restaurant is BYO so bring your alcoholic drink and enjoy.

First Table is a great concept because if it were not for the introduction via First Table we would not have found nor visited El Asador! El Asador is cosy with a great atmosphere and was good value for money! We enjoyed the experience.
