In Newport, Melbourne, Thunder Eatery & Cafe brings an all-day hum to the neighbourhood - a lively spot where Mediterranean comforts take centre stage. From first to last savoury bite, the kitchen leans into sun‑soaked flavours and generous plates built for appetite and conversation.

Evenings favour slow warmth and grill-side generosity: the moussaka layers ground beef, peppers, garlic and tender roasted aubergine with mixed vegetables for a plush, old‑world embrace. For something heartier, the mixed grill gathers kofta kebab, chicken fillet and cutlets beside roasted vegetables, hummus and a bright salad with rice - a satisfying spread that nods to broader Middle Eastern and Mediterranean traditions.

Daylight brings a lighter touch. A burrata caprese teams creamy burrata with cherry tomato, basil, pine nuts and fresh rocket, while a scrambled egg croissant is lifted with ricotta, fresh pesto and chopped chives. Coffee flows and smoothies are blended to match the mood, easy companions to an unhurried morning or breezy midday bite.

Casual, welcoming and unmistakably local, Thunder Bar and Eatery suits a swift pit stop as well as a lingering meal. Drop in, follow the rumble, and let the thunder roll across your plate!
