La Fiamma Pizza

La Fiamma Pizza brings a warm Italian welcome to Ettalong Beach, where courtyards, Italian-inspired art and statues set a charming scene. With green nooks and an easygoing, family and dog-friendly spirit, it feels like a neighbourhood piazza made for long, convivial meals.

The kitchen’s heart is its handcrafted sourdough, naturally leavened for up to 72 hours before meeting the wood-fired heat. Expect blistered crusts with a gentle chew and clean, confident flavours — from the purity of a margherita to a tomato-sauced number crowned with burrata and ribbons of prosciutto di Parma.

Beyond the pies, the menu nods to trattoria comforts. Think wood-fired focaccia scented with garlic and rosemary, or calamari fritti with a saline crunch. Fresh pasta runs from layered lasagna bolognese with béchamel to a silky carbonara threaded with guanciale and pecorino romano. There are hearty secondi too, like slow-cooked lamb shoulder with rosemary and sea salt, and a delicate barramundi acqua pazza simmered in a light, aromatic broth. Salads offer brightness, and little diners are well looked after.

Settle into the courtyard glow, share a few plates and let the conversation flow. Save room for that last slice — or better still, bring a friend and make it a two-slice problem.
