On Sydney’s Northern Beaches, The Haven Asian Dining gathers steam, spice and sizzle under one roof. The kitchen roams Asia’s great comfort canon, from the bamboo-basket delicacy of dim sum to wok-fired classics that arrive at the table still crackling.

Begin with the hush of Har Gow (crystal prawn dumplings), the bite of wontons in chilli oil, or crisp duck pancakes with cucumber, leek and hoisin sauce. Comforting bowls bring their own balm and brightness, from a clear, nourishing wonton soup to the citrus-lift and heat of Tom Yum Kung (spicy prawn soup), setting the pace for a meal that balances subtlety and swagger.

From there, the woks go to work. Black pepper Wagyu beef and the sizzling Mongolian combination showcase peppery depth and caramelised edges, while stir-fried lamb with cumin nods to spice-road warmth.

Main specialities continue with sweet and sour pork or rainbow chicken fillet with black pepper sauce, paired with vibrant sides such as dry-fried string beans with pork mince or broccoli with oyster sauce, with a comforting sweep of special fried rice bringing it all together.

Set a course for flavour on the Northern Beaches, book a table, and let the steam and sizzle lead the way. Go on, chase that last dumpling!
