Serving the very best of South Indian cuisine right here in Crows Nest, Dhakshin has carved a stellar name for itself over the 10 years it's been in operation.

And it's not hard to see why it's such a local treasure. Both traditional and modern at the same time, the restaurant itself plays with underground visuals, opting for black-painted walls, low-hanging lanterns and matching dark furniture. At the same time, hyper-realistic wallpapers transport you to some of India's most embellished temples and surround you with their exquisite beauty. Add to that all the activity coming from the exposed kitchen and you have a restaurant with all kinds of sensory stimuli.

Those of you who know a thing or two about Indian cuisine will know that it differs from north to south. Right now we're in the tropical climes of Kerala and with that, come dosas. The Indian answer to the crepe, enjoy yours with Mysore masala or with some sambar and coconut chutney on the side. Order in some chaat and crispy samosas too for an entrée like no other.

Mains tour several regions, including Hyderabad, Chettinad, Karwar and Kerala, giving way to Karwari prawns, Hyderabadi biriyani, Chettinad chicken and traditional Kerala lamb. You also have the most recognisable plates, like butter chicken, lamb saag and beef vindaloo, as well as palak paneer, dhal maharani and okra masala for vegetarians.
