Tru Blu Mediterranean

Wow. This must be one of the restaurants in the northern beaches. It’s as well planned and at the level of Pilu without the high price or view. I’m so happy we discovered this gem.

To start we had the Fraser Island spanner crab, taramasada, tabouli with freeze squeezed lemon juice. It’s was robust in flavor and perfect on a sunny evening. It was light and healthy. We wanted to order another but decided to wait for our next dish. I’m still thinking about it this perfectly created small plate.

We then had the slow cooked braised short beef with a delicious carrot purée, harissa, and salsa verde. It was accompanied with all kinds of delightful pieces that created a bomb of flavors in my mounth.

The ocean trout was the special and was also a Amal’s hit. It had a crispy cooked skin on top of it. The fish was cooked to perfection where the middle was still moist and flaky.

We also had the beetroot salad which my partner happily ate when he normally doesn’t even like beet root. The beetroot had feta and was accompanied with some greens and walnuts.

We ended with the flourless chocolate cake which did not disappoint.

I seriously thought our Manly area was doomed with tourist food traps. Thank you Tru Blue for brings some true delicious cusine to the neighborhoo. Also, your staff from Brazil was lovely. I don’t remember his name but he was fabulous.

We all four absolutely loved our dining experience at Tru Blu. Can’t speak highly enough of the food and the service and would highly recommend making a booking and enjoying the restaurant for yourself. We are spreading the word and will most definitely return before long. Thank you Tru Blu, a great evening!

Food was amazing! We left after our meal feeling satisfied and full. Food was cooked to perfection and with the freshest ingredients. We looooved the octopus and the crab! Would 100% return again to taste the other things on the menu. Perfect place to share plates, enjoy a drink and go for a date night! 10/10

Have been wanting to try this place for ages and wasn’t disappointed. Although we were the first table we were the last to leave. The food and service was spot on. We had ordered too many dishes and they were more than happy to cancel some as the evening wore on. Great local gem - will definitely be back.

This restaurant was an excellent discovery. Beautifully decorated, made me feel I was back in Santorini. Fantastic service, fast and attentive. The food was amazing. We started with the Miso eggplant dip, which I could of eaten all night, lovely smokey flavour, followed by a trout with chilli sauces, so tasty, and the lamb tenderloin which was ever so tender. Lots of taste sensations in every dish and a wonderful wine list to go with it. We will definitely be taking friends back there.

My partner and I went to see what all the hype was about and now know why!
The food was outstanding (definitely try the Octopus) and the service was also wonderful! The whole atmosphere was lovely. The staff were more than accommodating, very knowledgable and everything on the menu sounded amazing!! We ordered 5 dishes between 2 of us and left feeling exceptionally full with our tastebuds salivating!

The good food coupled with good service is a way to enjoy an early dinner with friends. We enjoyed and savoured the choice of shared small/big plates and starters. We'll surely come back for more.

A perfect gem of a restaurant. We turned up with 2 kids and couldn’t have been made more welcome with attentive, friendly service, great fun too. The atmosphere was like being in a little Mediterranean bistro. Fab margarita cocktail to start. Kids meal of pizza and steak and chips were wolfed down. Then our tapas dishes of crab, octopus, belly pork, green beans and cauliflower purée were absolutely deliciously fabulous. We will be back with friends! Thanks for a great night.

The service and food at Tru Blu Mediterranean restaurant last night was fabulous. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. The food was the best we have had on the northern beaches for a long while. We’ll definitely be back. It’s our new favourite restaurant.

Nice to have the opportunity to try our local and it didn’t disappoint. We had a family meal and everyone left satisfied. Highlights included the pork and beef dishes. Polenta chips a hit with the kids.

Beyond compare. The best restaurant surrounding Manly. We started with the mouth-watering crab crackers with salmon roe on top. The taste of lemon, crab and other flavours was so moorish. We then had the ribs with a carrot puree and harissa, i closed my eyes and felt like I was in Morocco, the chef has definitely managed to capture the true flavour's of the Middle East and the Mediterranean in all the food he prepares. Jim, the restaurant manager, was very attentive and gave us five-star service with a vast knowledge of wines to compliment our meals. Jim suggested a cauliflower and bean salad on a cauliflower puree, It is hard to describe how delicious this simple combination was, suffice as to say my fifth visit not far off. After this we thought about going home as the portions were quite generous, but as the food was so divine, and our eyes bigger than our stomachs, we decided to indulge with desert. I had the Sticky Fig pudding, which as an alternative to the sticky date had a richer flavour and a nice crunch when you bit through the fig seeds. My partner had the Creme Brule with orange and cardamon. It was the perfect combination of flavours and we were unfortunately unable to finish both deserts off. I would honestly have to say this is the best restaurant I have eaten in, in Sydney.

From the greeting by the Maitre D Jim as we entered, until we left a couple of hours later, this meal was first class. Jim answered our questions regarding the menu, and all the choices we made were delicious. The starters of sardines were tasty, the eggplant light and delicate, and the crab with roe delicious. How could it get better? Well, the pork belly that's how! Octopus and trout rounded off the mains brilliantly. All accompanied by a delicate French Rose. Room for dessert? Why not! Suffice to say all 3 we tried were gorgeous. Overall rating 11 out of 10!

We wanted to try almost every dish on the menu but settled for king prawns, trout fish cakes with green rice, whitebait fritters, garlic bread, and sweet potato chips. All dishes were bright and flavorful with ingredients that went beautifully together. Our taste buds were happily satisfied. Couldn't find room to try the yummy sounding desserts but will surely save our stomachs for our next visit!

Wow wow wow. What a sparkling azure gem is this restaurant. From the moment we stepped in we were welcomed warmly and accommodated we had a 3 and 4 year old so some restaurants are not so friendly. The waiter gave us some awesome recommendations the food was original and a real experience we enjoyed it all immensely. The prawns , taramasalata, fig pudding and osso bucco were particularly tantalising thanks you so much for your beautiful hospitality
