Set in the heart of Leichhardt in Sydney’s Inner West, Capriccio Osteria channels the spirit of the Amalfi Coast with a distinctly local charm. Guided by a third-generation restaurateur, the kitchen keeps tradition close while celebrating produce-driven simplicity. It is the kind of place where convivial service meets considered cooking, all wrapped in an atmosphere that feels both vibrant and comfortably familiar.

Handcrafted pasta and wood-fired pizza form the backbone, with seasonal moments adding a flourish. During truffle season, indulgence takes centre stage in dishes such as Tartufi pizza and fettuccine, letting earthy aromas do the talking. Antipasti set a generous tone, from prosciutto di Parma with buffalo mozzarella to octopus roasted in ’nduja butter, a gentle heat spiralling through rich, maritime flavours.

Pasta courses move with confidence between comfort and character: squid ink spaghetti carries the sea with inky elegance, while saffron fettuccine with Wagyu beef shin leans deep and luxurious. From the oven, prosciutto and porchetta pizzas arrive with a pleasing balance of savour and lift, ideal for sharing or savouring solo.

The room is vibrant yet cosy, equally at home hosting spirited group dinners or a quiet midweek date. Come for the warmth, stay for the craft, and leave plotting your return—book a table, bring good company, and let Capriccio do the charming.
