This restaurant is headed up by internationally acclaimed chef Stanley Wong, and the menu reflects not only his talent but his passion for locally sourced food and his interest in sustainable seafood and meats. From the moment that my friends and I entered the restaurant we were greeted by our host who took us to our table and explained to us the history of the restaurant and the menu.

The ambience, warmth and history certainly did provide a great setting for dinner.

The food was absolutely amazing and you could not find a better steak anywhere in Australia and was more reminiscent of something that you would experience in Argentina.

The price was fair considering the portion size and sides that accompany the main meal. The beef tartare as a starter is a must. My friends and I will be back in the near future to try the gnocchi..

Head up the stairs of The Old Rum Store to discover the flame grilled flavours of Eastside Kitchen and Bar. The staff are genuine and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you step inside. The ambience is cosy and dark, lit by the mood lighting and flickering of candles, channelling the vibe of a trendy new York bar.
The food is clever, fresh and presented with finesse, without being pretentious.
Best option: Go with the Chefs menu, it offers a bit of everything to try and is great value for money.

Service and meat were perfect. I would recommend the restaurant because of that. However, their wine alternatives though were poor and expensive. Food portions were too small on my opinion.

The waitstaff were friendly and hospitable, and the service they gave was impeccable.

Between the 4 of us, we ordered 2 entrees - Baby Octopus and Asparagus; and for mains we ordered the 1.3 O/P Ribs, 2 Wagyu sirloins. The food was well presented and more importantly, VERY tasty.

We will definitely come back.

First time visitor to this eatery and really loved it. It has a nice vibe, the service was first rate and the food was excellent. The wagyu melted in my mouth but the fire and ice tasting dessert was a work of art. A serving for 2 would have been enough for 4. Recommended.

In a converted rum storehouse East side Kitchen and Bar welcomes you warmly with candlelight and deep tones. Twinkling in the rainy twilight.

We had beautiful service throughout the evening - attentive and caring.
We started our Friday night dinner with some complimentary mouse to get the tastebuds ready. Yum!

The bread with beef butter was as if eating a steak and delicious with texture salt and morishness.

Then the steaks ....and steaks cooked to perfection!. I chose a sirloin with a truffle mayo sauce and green salad. Each element complimented each other very well balancing out a delightful dinner.

Deserts were a hit and miss affair with my hazelnut parfait very well done but the new York cheesecake too dense and not on par with the remainder of the meal.

A comprehensive wine list was a little overpriced but had something for everyone.

The and made chocolates with the bill always speak of generosity and I for one love the little extras.

All in all 5 ***** evening.

We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains but also came with complimentary appetiser and dessert (truffle chocolate).

For starters ordered the octopus and beef tongue. For mains ordered the pork belly (they ran out of the pork chop) and the steak cube roll with the side of steak chips and truffle mayo. Steak chips were extremely crispy on the outside and fluffy inside

This was our second time dining here and the food was just as good as the first time. Steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare and were both very good quality meat. Appreciated the chef coming to the table to show and describe the various meat cuts as well. The hazelnut parfait and NY cheesecake were also delicious. Will definitely return again!

It was a relaxing early weeknight dinner. We wouldn't know this restaurant without going through first table. The service was very good as the waitress checked on us a few times to make sure everything is well. My husband and I enjoyed our main dishes the most. The duck leg was juicy and tender whereas the beef was perfected cooked. The only thing I would say they can improve on is the dessert options - a bit too westernised given that they are an 'eastside kitchen'. Overall, a very satisfactory dining experience!

I was seated with window view and sofa. Customer service was top notch and I would like to thank the amazing waiter and waitresses for an amazing evening with my boyfriend.

On arriving at Eastside Kitchen & Bar we realised they had a special function organised for 4th July celebrations and our booking had not being confirmed. Fortunately for us the staff very quickly arranged for us to eat upstairs at Olio. The service was great, the food delicious and we all enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating our mothers birthday. Fantastic evening out. I'd been before and had a great time, so jumped at the chance to go again.

The location is around a 10 minute walk from Central Station, in the Kensington Street precinct. It may be a bit hard to find for newcomers -- the entrance is near Holy Duck, you'll have to go up one flight of stairs.

We ordered the roasted bone marrow, pate, angus steak, grilled broccolini and mac and cheese. Food came out relatively quickly. As per my first visit, food was great -- it was really tasty. The angus steak was cooked medium rare so quite red in the middle -- I usually prefer medium well steaks but this was great -- the seasoning was perfect. We also shared dessert (forgot what it was called) and it was delicious.

You walk into this place confronted by an amazing bar with a very friendly and approachable waiter. We had Bombay Sapphire and Tonic and Vodka and Soda to begin with. This was followed by chicken karage which was so tasty, ggy’s sourdough bread
apple balsamic & olive oil and angus beef tartare
pickled beets, rice crisps which delicious.
Mains were ranger’s valley angus striploin steak (250g)
roasted potatoes, baby peppers heavenly and spaghetti pumpkin mentaiko pasta
salmon roe cooked to perfection. We also had some greens on the side

For dessert we had dessert presentation ‘fire + ice’ which was to die for.
