Angel’s House

A heavenly restaurant that's making elegant French dining fashionable again, Angel's House is your answer to a sophisticated evening out in Fremantle.

Founded by French brothers Anthony and Jeremy, their mission is to celebrate the food of their home country and pair it with hand-picked Australian and French wines. They call an 1880 heritage building home, making for a perfect setting that is intimate and authentic to its core. A keen eye for symmetry reflects the precision that is French cooking, whilst the teal booths, terracotta patio and blackboard with the daily specials recall those French bistros that line small towns and cities.

As ever, the French cuisine hones down on stunning cuts of meat that are braised, seared and pan-fried to perfection. Up first is the black Angus ribeye that is served with a creamy shallot sauce, seared duck breast with potato gratin and the inexplicably delicious boeuf bourguignon that is resplendent in a red wine sauce. That's not to say that vegetarians aren't catered for; indeed the goat's cheese quiche with beetroot quenelle and an asparagus vinaigrette is a glorious, meat-free look-in into the French kitchen.

And where would France be without dessert? Explore the country's famous patisseries with the Royal Cake or the Exotic Tart, both of which create layer upon layer of flavour, texture and pleasure.
