The Mez Club

Opened in September 2016, The Mez Club brings a sun-kissed slice of the Mediterranean to Byron Bay and Northern NSW.

Inspired by Moroccan architecture and the scenic ambience of the Greek Islands, the venue pairs clean lines and textured whites with a congenial, free-flowing vibe. It's a place made for grazing and lingering, where conversation moves as easily as the plates.

The kitchen leans into mezze culture, favouring bright, coastal flavours and a little charcoal smoke. Think oysters served natural or with mignonette to start, perhaps followed by a charcoal-grilled scallop on cauliflower puree with puffed wild rice.

For something heartier, larger mezes have comfort at their core: slow-cooked lamb with parsnip puree and raisins, or a silky wild mushroom risotto lifted with salsa verde. On the side, a crisp fattoush salad and skin-on shoestring fries with tartufo sauce and rosemary salt keep the table lively.

To finish, sweet options include chocolate creme brulee with salted dark chocolate and a playful baklava ice cream. Refreshing house beverages are part of the ritual, while upstairs The Souk sets the scene for intimate gatherings.
