You can always count on Saigon Cuisine for a fresh, aromatic, Vietnamese supper. Where every dish is made to order, this eatery is setting the bar high for Vietnamese food in Oakleigh.

It's an unassuming restaurant that might slip your eye on the high street, but that's half the beauty of Saigon Cuisine in the first place. You have to be in the know and know what to look for, making it a hidden gem in front of your very nose. Like an extension of a traditional Vietnamese home, you could be mistaken for barging into someone else's house, but therein lies the magic; at Saigon Cuisine, everyone is welcomed and treated like family.

Be sure to take your time perusing the menu because there's plenty to choose from! You are tempted right from the get-go to fill your belly with delicious starters like bao buns, homemade prawn spring rolls, all kinds of dumplings and all the rice paper rolls your heart desires. Of course, you can always just enjoy this as Vietnamese tapas for the main course, but make sure to leave some room if they're just for starters.

Up next are the big rice dishes that top sticky rice with anything from crispy chicken to roast pork, seafood and mixed vegetables. They also have fiery stir-fries that go big on flavour, combining egg and rice vermicelli noodles with marinated meat, veggies and plenty of soy sauce. Other mains to share include plates where meat is the star of the show. We're talking signature soft-shell crab, calamari, roast pork belly and shaking beef.

Unpretentious Vietnamese food for the whole family, Saigon Cuisine will become your number one in Oakleigh.
