Perched in Brunswick East, Albatross Restaurant and Bar brings a breezy, good-times spirit to Melbourne. Equal parts kitchen and bar, it leans into Mexican fusion and coffee delights, channelling the neighbourhood’s appetite for punchy flavours and relaxed hospitality. It is the kind of local where conversations hum, glasses clink and plates land with colour and crunch.

From the griddle and grill come crowd-pleasers with a twist: a steak sandwich sharpened with horseradish and caramelised onions; a crispy chicken sandwich with a lick of spicy mayo; loaded fries scattered with jalapeños and hot sauce; and nachos layered with beef mince, hot chili beans and melted cheese. The Spice Road detours to comforting Punjabi butter chicken and South Indian mutton masala, while burgers range from Hawaiian chicken crowned with pineapple to a gourmet lamb number.

Mexican cravings are met with plump burritos, from chicken schnitzel or grill to NZ sirloin steak with horseradish and caramelised onions, plus a chicken quesadilla spiked with Mexican hot sauce and jalapeño.

Drinks-wise, crafted cocktails and barista coffee set the mood, with nostalgic milkshakes for sweet-toothed sips. It is unfussy, flavour-forward and made for easygoing gatherings.

Round up the crew, follow the craving and settle in as Albatross Restaurant and Bar takes you skyward. Book in and let your evening - and appetite - take flight.
