Basilico brings a warmly lived-in kind of hospitality to Albert Park, the sort only a family-owned restaurant can muster. Built on generations of European tradition, it's grounded in time-honoured recipes and a love of homemade craft.

The mood is distinctly Italian, beginning with warm olives and bread and golden arancini tucked with roasted pumpkin. Risotto offers earthy mushrooms and a whisper of truffle oil, while a brinier version arrives in Fraser Island crab and mussels folded through napoli sauce and shaved bottarga.

Long ribbons of pappardelle ragu and spaghetti marinara are brightened with lemon zest and white wine. Wood-fired pizzas span from classic margherita to anchovy-laced napolitana, while heartier plates of pollo cacciatore and veal scaloppine sit alongside seasonal greens and potato puree.

Easy-going and generous, Basilico invites guests to linger over crisp salads or gather for a family feast shared across the table. It is a place for honest flavours and the simple pleasure of good company.
