Nestled along the Gold Coast Highway in Mermaid Beach, Ramen Kyo brings a taste of Tokyo’s ramen culture to the coast, blending time-honoured tradition with a touch of local flair. Since quietly opening its doors in December 2024, this modern ramen bar has quickly won the hearts of food lovers across the Gold Coast.

The space is sleek and minimalist, with blond wood, white walls, and soft, ambient lighting creating a calm, inviting atmosphere, perfect backdrop for the food to take centre stage.

The menu is a vibrant celebration of flavour and colour, featuring seven distinct ramen varieties, each inspired by a colour-coded theme. What sets Ramen Kyo apart is its dedication to chicken-based broth, a lighter alternative to the richer pork broths traditionally found in ramen. The result is a clean, deeply satisfying bowl, paired with house-made noodles and tender, low-temperature cooked chicken chashu.
