The Newmarket Hotel

The Newmarket Hotel (fondly known as the Newy) welcomes locals and wanderers with a laid-back Queensland spirit. A casual, comfortable setting made for lingering, it flows through characterful spaces, the Loft, Mrs P’s, and the Terrace, moving from intimate cocktails to relaxed outdoor dining, always with an eye to communal moments and shared laughter.

The menu spans shareable beginnings, where oysters arrive in various guises, natural with mignonette, Kilpatrick, even crowned with caviar, alongside karaage chicken glossed in honey soy and sesame. Then come pinsas, similar to pizza, with the funghi pinsa layering mushroom, truffle salsa and bocconcini, while the agnello pinsa pairs spiced lamb, yoghurt and sumac onions.

Cravings run from classic to contemporary: margherita and BBQ meat lover pizzas, a juicy wagyu cheeseburger or a hearty steak sandwich, through to the grill’s wagyu rump and doctor-style sirloin. Pub comfort has its place too! Think chicken parmigiana and golden fish and chips balanced by a crisp caesar or broccoli chickpea salad.
