In New Farm, Double Shot Panini is a welcoming café serving all-day breakfast, paninis, lunch and sweet treats. It’s the kind of neighbourhood spot where unhurried mornings drift easily into relaxed afternoons, guided by a love of simple, flavour-led cooking and a gentle Mediterranean touch.

Breakfast fans can start strong with a classic eggs Benedict or go hearty with the big breakfast, a generous plate layered with eggs, bacon, Italian sausage, mushrooms, hash browns, grilled tomatoes, haloumi and avocado on toast.

That Mediterranean influence shines through in the paninis: caprese brings together mozzarella, seasonal tomatoes, basil and pesto, while prosciutto offers a savoury counterpoint with creamy mozzarella and ripe tomatoes. The bowls are bright and satisfying too, from the Mediterranean bowl with spinach, feta, seasonal vegetables and balsamic glaze to the cotoletta bowl, where chicken schnitzel, mozzarella and roasted peppers meet crunch and comfort.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, equally suited to a quick bite or a lingering catch-up, with four-legged friends very much part of the ritual. With a licence in hand, lunch can be paired with a well-earned drink, and there’s always a sweet treat to finish. Drop in midweek or on the weekend, find your favourite corner, and let a simple panini turn into a very good day, paws welcome.
