Cuisine: A La Carte, Indonesian
Price Point: Mains from $15 - $35

Enjoy a slice of Bali in the heart of Brisbane. This is Bayleaf on Brisbane.

If you’ve chosen a nice day to go to this eatery, you’re in for a treat. Their outdoor courtyard is simply wonderful. With a bamboo shelter and wooden stools, it’s a chilled place with lush surroundings where you can soak in the endless blue sky (and a cheeky tipple).

Lose yourself to the intense flavours of each dish. Leave the everyday and try something new with their braised beef in coconut milk or their traditional Balinese lamb stew. If you’re after seafood, their marinated prawns, squid and fish fillets will have you marinating every day! Then go one step further and sample their traditional Balinese desserts.

For the wine, choose from their selection of Bayleaf specials, including a cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and merlot. Alternatively, keep your cool with an ice-cold beer or a cocktail that will pack the same punch as the food.

Reviews

We had a great experience at Bayleaf, service was friendly and great, and the food was amazing. We had a satay and poached chicken salad (fantastic) to start and a duck curry and lamb stew which were flavoursome and tender.

Definitely recommend, we will be back for another visit soon.

What a lovely experience, sizzling sate, delicious chicken curry and the lamb curry was Devine. Friendly staff, small restaurant, great dining experience if you’re looking for something a bit different.

Honestly, just book it, you won't be sorry. Yes, it's in the grounds of a motel but it is NOT what you remember of a motel restaurant from years ago!
You can park at the door, have a drink under the tiki hut and then move inside (or not) and enjoy a fabulous buffet selection of a little bit of everything on their menu for $25 per head. I mean, really, where can you go for such great food, atmosphere, free parking at the door with second to none service?? We will be back that's for sure. Fabulous location for the elderly, close, all one level, quiet, room for a wheelchair etc Thanks Bayleaf, we are so glad we chose you for our girls catch up.

Bayleaf is a little gem of a restaurant.

The food is exquisite & the service is excellent as well.
The menu is Balinese and the food is delicious and the flavors are beautifully balanced.(I lived in Indonesia & Bali for a number of years, this food and menu is very authentic).

I had the Lamb with cardamon and coriander, so tender and tasty.
My husband also loved his choices (Entree: Satay and Main: Duck).

This quaint Balinese restaurant also has a great ambiance.

We will most definitely be back.

After a nice easy parking spot right outside the restaurant, we were welcomed in to the restaurant by an ambient Balinese garden with subtle outdoor lighting which made the Buddha and otter various sculptures glow peacefully.
An intimate size restaurant inside with soft Balinese background music instantly relaxes you and gives you a taste of the culture.
The Smokey satay meats arrived, perched over a mini grill with coal smouldering beneath. The satay flavours were really intense and delicious. The winning main for us was the lamb curry with cardamom and coriander with lavender rice.
A lovely experience with charming staff which was just what myself and my husband were after on our date night.

My family was there for dinner 2 weeks ago. The food and service was great. We had the skewers for entrée (sate & sambal kacang). They were very tasty. For mains we had pork in sweet soya sauce, assorted seafood braised in yellow coconut milk and Balinese lamb stew. Stew and seafood were a little spicy however both beautiful and the pork was great for the kids. We will definitely eat there again.

Excellent flavours and great service. The set menu is really good value even at full price. Good wine list without a big markup. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
