Since 1923, Roth’s Wine Bar has poured Mudgee’s spirit within a venue of vintage furnishings and historical charm. Nestled in the town centre, it melds a storied past with a lively present, drawing locals and travellers alike.

In the kitchen, hearty gastropub fare meets a wood-fired heartbeat. You might choose garlic pizza brushed with confit garlic, or a margherita bright with sliced tomatoes and bocconcini. For a filling meal, the Southern fried chicken wings are served with tangy buffalo sauce and crisp celery.

Sides keep the atmosphere convivial, ranging from beer-battered chips with aioli to a fresh Greek salad lifted by mint and Kalamata olives. Desserts remain classic, featuring sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce or pavlova crowned with crème Chantilly, passion fruit and seasonal berries.

Live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, a monthly comedy club and regular trivia nights maintain the energy, while happy hours set a social tone. You can pull up a chair to sip and savour while this historic gem works its magic. There is always something worth toasting at Roth’s.
