Torrens might be thousands of miles from Europe but European Rusk will have you thinking you're sitting in an Italian eatery or French brasserie.

Relax into its lively vibes with a plate of something small to whet the appetite. Sample their market oysters that have travelled straight from the sea to your plate. Or, go for their spicy chicken wings or a refreshing baked beetroot that comes with hazelnut and goats cheese. A match made in heaven!

For mains, their market fish is not to be missed. For something truly decadent, go for their braised beef cheek, packed with flavour and accompanied by a cauliflower puree. Feeling really hungry? A pizza with an abundance of fresh, tasty toppings should sort you right out!

And as everyone knows, the Europeans know their wines and at European Rusk it's no different. If you're unsure, ask one of their friendly staff.

The service at European Rusk was fantastic, as was the food. I would highly recommend.

We tried this gem of a restaurant hidden away in Torrens yesterday and were so pleased! Comfortable surroundings, friendly staff and delicious food! We received a compliments of the chef appetizer, croquettes for entree and I had a huge chicken parmigiana and my partner had beef cheeks. Both were amazing. My only criticism was of myself for ordering too much. This is a must try restaurant!

This restaurant is obviously finding its feet with staff numbers and timing but they were trying hard and with a bit more practice I think they will be good. We enjoyed our complimentary nibblies as the food did take a while to arrive but when it did we were very pleasantly surprised. The chicken parmy was huge and delicious, the wagyu burger was lovely. I enjoyed the stuffed eggplant and the salads were beautifully fresh with lots of herbs. We were too full to try the desserts but maybe next time. I definitely recommend this restaurant and we will return.

It’s their first week open in Torrens ACT and everything is great. Genuine warm welcome and good service, generous serves of tasty food in a restaurant that doesn’t have a noise problem. We look forward to going back.

WOW what a suburban gem, with great food and service. The staff were so attentive and helpful and brought us fresh/warm homemade bread and olive oil. We ordered a pizza it was very large and a great combination of flavours, I will order it agin. The Gnocchi with tomatoe sauce and fresh basil was light and fluffy. The beef check was exactly as we were told super tender and melted in your mouth. The Fish and chips was one of the biggest serves we have ever seen and the flathead was cooked perfectly. The salad was a symphony of mint, coriander and parsley all of which balanced perfectly with the vinaigrette. The tartare was obviously homemade and tasted great. We will be back!

The Chicken Wellington was excellent. The restaurant is nicely furnished with comfortable chairs. The pancotta dessert was a disappointment. The custard was far too much set.

We went for dinner on a quite Sunday night. I had already decided what I was going to order however we were told they'd run out of the rib eye and oysters were not included in the first table deal (neither were the lamb shanks just an FYI). So instead ordered the scotch fillet, which was really nice. Meat was cooked reasonably well and had simple but nice complements.

We also had the whitebait and the pavlova. Whitebait were the bigger fish, where you can taste the actual little fishes and the pavlova was more like a couple of meringues with fruit and caramel (and no cream!).

All in all ok experience and really affordable due to the first table deal but felt the restaurant could have used this opportunity to wow it's first table customers and turn them into regulars. My partner and I eat out about 8-9 meals a week so we're always looking for great hidden gems to make our regular go to. The hidden terms and conditions with exclusions was a bit of a turnoff for us to go back again.

Hidden Gem in suburban Torrens. We shared a calamari entree - but there was not enough calamari to salad ratio. The calamari was fresh and the salad had a lively dressing but 8 small pieces of calamari was a tease. Regardless would order again, very nice. Main - I ordered pizza. Fresh ingredients and a lovely thin, crisp base. The 500g Dry Aged Rib Eye steak was the second main ordered and was very much enjoyed. “Possibly the best steak I have had in a long while”, thumbs up for that. The chips were crunchy on the outside and deliciously soft inside. The accompanied salad was fresh with the same delicious dressing. Service was good although we had to ask for our drinks as waitress thought the wine was to accompany our main meal. We will certainly return.

Seriously good food but chronically understaffed. We were first to order and still had to wait for around 90 mins for our mains. By this time the restaurant was mostly full and people were looking quite frustrated with the food delivery. The waitress did her best but she was really the only person looking after the room - a guy did come and go whilst we there but he didnt take any orders so adding the delays. We scarped as soon as we finished eating mains - honestly had no idea how long dessert would of taken and the mood in the dining room was going down hill fast. Good food but the delivery is so agonisingly slow that cannot recommend.

The portion is so generous and we couldn’t even finish all our food with the tasting menu. Service was excellent too. The staff was very accommodating especially my baby was crying for a fair amount of time.

The waiting time was a bit long (about 45 mins) but there were some complementary canapés. The aged rib eye was the bomb, definitely recommended!

We were a table of three, and it was my first experience at European Rusk. The food was lovely, both entree and main...I also really appreciated the taster and hand made breads which came out prior to enter (complimentary), this was a special touch.

I must say, the night was made most memorable by the staff member, Honey, who was both very busy, but also extremely polite and professional and had the entire restaurant under control. Management should be grateful to have such an asset!! Thankyou Honey

Restaurant was empty except for our family which was nice but did mean 50 min wait for food was a little unexpected. Thankfully it was served with a smile and tasted delicious, albeit lacking a little in presentation. Drinks menu was surprisingly varied. Overall a pleasant meal out for our young family.

Nice little quiet restaurant. 500g Rib Eye was really good and perfectly cooked. Hubby ordered the lamb and it was a bit overcooked but still good. We had a couple of complimentary appetizers brought out as the wait was a little long (which we fully expected when ordering steaks/lamb) which we found really thoughtful. All in all it was a nice dinner!

The service was good but we were the only ones there for the first while. I guess that is why they call it First Table. The entrees were ok but definitely not 5* but good for a family type restaurant and reasonably priced. The mains were good, my steak was probably a little more rare than medium rare but the flavour was good.
I found it a bit odd that the waitress had to ask if we wanted our wine then or if we wanted to wait for food.

I think it is good for a family type restaurant but they are trying to be fine dining which it is not.
