Cuisine: Cocktail Bar, Tapas/Small Plates
Price Point: Mains from $25 - $35

Enjoy the best local ingredients in one of the best local restaurants. Byron Bay’s Green Room is the perfect place for your next meal out.

This venue is located inside the Beach Hotel. Its pared-back interior features striking natural materials that gives the room a cosy and inviting feel.

Green Room’s philosophy is all about taking local to the next level, with food and drinks sourced from the amazing array of Byron Bay producers.

The menu is broken into three sections: smaller, rye bites, and larger, making for perfect share fare if you’re with a group of friends. The cuisine is modern, with Italian influences shining through in dishes such as the meatballs, burrata and carpaccio.

There’s also a small but delectable wood-fired pizza menu, with gluten-free and vegan options available on request.

Green Room’s cocktails truly sing. Why not indulge in a martini before your meal? Local wine, beer and even kombucha are all also available.

I love the food at Green Room, love the staff and the atmosphere here. One of my favourites in Byron... the nut tasting butter they use on their sourdough is extra awesome, especially when dipping into the mussels :-)

Great location, sitting at the window watching the Byron people walk by. Pizza was delicious. We didn't have any of the tapas menu but it all looked amazing. Will definitely come back and try it next time.

Very good table service excellent choice of dishes . Beautiful fresh local produce. Lots of variety and the Jilli wine tasters most enjoyable. No room for dessert alas! Highly recommend .

We really enjoyed the food at Green Room, it was of excellent quality and interesting combinations.
Service was good but needed further training on wines and drinks.
Only down side is the noise from the public bar. Thanks

Enjoyed the charcuterie board using local salumi, cheeses loves you cheese, Bread Social bread and grumpy grandma's olives.
Scallops were fresh and tasty. Fish pie was good also.

Green Room missed the mark for us. The decor was lovely and service was great. Meatballs were on the bland side although the Napoli sauce was rich and flavoursome. Tuna carpaccio was very nice. Biggest disappointment is the wine selection which is by the bottle or tap wine by the glass which was terrible. The cocktail I tried was also average at best. The drinks options are a let down here.

The happy hour attraction of $2 oysters (in shell from nearby Brunswick Heads) with $12 cocktails were a draw but not included in the half-price dining deal. So we ordered a beer, a margarita and a dozen oysters (but passed on the extra $1 each to have them Killpatrick) while contemplating the tapas menu concept ie casual finger food to accompany your drinks...The wait staff and manager provided attentive and efficient service in a venue that is NOT strictly my idea of a restaurant, but did deliver 2 filling plates: an excellent thin crust salami and mozzarella topped wood fired pizza - fiery and cheesy; and a chartreuse board comprising half a loaf of thickly sliced, crusty sourdough, salted butter, toast biscotti-style slivers, a soft cheese, a small bowl of herbed kalamata & black olives, plum jam, red grapes and 2 cured sulami meats - a couple of thinly sliced larger rounds and smaller knobs of a chewier variety. Both plates were generous and satisfying for 2 moderately peckish adults.
On the downside I was intrigued by the 'Mac' (a 23% alc. macadamia & toasted wattleseed whisky promoted as a liqueur) served over ice with a wedge of lime as I actually couldn't taste much nut, seed or alcohol at all. The bar staff were helpful with providing a further shot straight for tasting but it remained underwhelming to this #singlemaltgirl!
All up great service in a tapas-style bar environment.

We jumped in a booth and we recommended the spritzers which were tasty. To start we hard the charcuterie board which was very generous and almost too much for 2. We shared a pumpkin pizza which had a great crust. The djs were just setting up as we left as it more of a late night spot.

Great venue, lovely staff. The gluten free pizza was amazing. I would have given the service a 5 except they tried to charge us full price on the bill even though they knew we had booked through first table. Apart from that minor mix up, our experience was excellent thanks to the food, venue and staff!

We really enjoyed the food which exceeded expectations (oysters, fish pie, and lava cake for desert were exceptional). Friendly attentive staff. Fireplace for winter. Nice touches on quality dinnerware. Great wine selections. Would recommend and will be back. Well done guys. X
